At first I didn't get this store. Expensive. Strange options. Tons of prepared food. Figured it was a sort of local novelty store. Not so. This is a heartbeat of the Greenville area. People are shopping here as their preferred local store. Right now there is an impressive array of pumpkins, corn stalks, and autumn plants on sale for Fall. They carry local, they celebrate the special. And those who are looking for home made meals come here for an ever changing array of meal options which reflect seasons and holidays. It's incredible the amount and types of prepared food they offer. I love watching people try to decide what they want. It all looks delicious. I think Janssen's is fabulous. Gourmet grocery that also sells "the usual" - eggs, milk, bread, as well as gourmet foods. Wonderful cheeses, meats, spreads, plus an entire glass front counter full of yummy prepared foods. Hot soup, salad, you name it.
Found this little gem on accident, but was very impressed with the quality of the selections as well as the professionalism on the staff. I will definitely be back!
